Yesterday, Inwe lost one of her front teeth. We'd watched it hanging lower than the other one for a few days. When I met her outside the gate of the the school yesterday, she greeted me with a gap-toothed smile. We shared a squeal, and I asked her to tell me all about it.
This is her story.
When you dropped me off yesterday, I had free choice and then snack. Snack was biscuits and jelly and butter and milk, but I didn't drink the milk because it was plain. And, well, I didn't want milk. When I was eating I bit my tooth a few times because its hanging down and then, well, it fell out. I went to the the nurse, who told me to go back to the cafeteria and get a piece of ice. The lunch lady didn't understand because she gave me a whole bag of ice, which I ate. I also cleaned all the blood out of the tooth and looked inside. It's got a hole in it. I put it in the bag you gave me. Want to see?
So, we stopped right there at Prytania and Second, the duo of black poodles barking at White Dragon, looking at the tooth as cars whizzed by, oblivious to the shared moment.

Oh, I want to see a picture!
I'll get one for you.
So what is the going rate on a tooth?
We don't do the tooth fairy thing. Before she's gotten a lip gloss, usually the cheapie $1 kind.
I think Phill gave her a dollar, though.
She's adorable with the gap! What a cool moment for you two to share.
