Painting Pumpkins

Yesterday we painted pumpkins because Inwe wanted to do this. Idril came over right as we were beginning so I found a pumpkin for her as well.

Maverick--I am not a "momma". I am a mother, a mommy, a mom. Calling me "momma" is fightin' words.

Why's that? I'm interested in the distinction.

Ah, Trixie, that is perhaps a subject for a post on my non-kid blog.

It's a personal perference. Plus, you have to hear how my sister, Maverick, says it. When she wants to the southern twang and slight disgust that comes out with that word is aciduous.

To me a "Momma" is very large, a bit abusive in her language, too big for her britches. Many people call their mothers Mama, and it does not have that connotation to it that I see. Stay tuned to the HP blog. I'll post more. It will be a good "What about you?" post.
