Thursday to Monday

Finwe asked to have his hair cut last week. He constantly complained about the hair in his eyes. I took him to the woman who cut my hair, Phill's, and Larien's. She cut it short like we asked. Finwe obviously liked her as he smiled the entire time, never needing me to reassure him. Maybe the M&Ms helped. Near the end, Kieu (the stylist) laughed at the cowlick near his part. She said, "You might need to put some gel in it to keep that down." Finwe heard her and asked if he could have some hair stuff. She agreed. As she worked it into his hair, parts stuck up, spiky, like many young men like to wear their hair. Finwe liked this, telling my mother, "Kieu put in the white stuff and my hair POPPED UP!" We spent the weekend, popping up his hair.

With Halloween approaching, Inwe has been interested in being a vampire. She has a costume, but Phill hid it. At my mom's house, she asked for some black clothes. I wasn't there, but I imagine she said, "I know you have lots of black clothes." My gathered some clothes and this is what resulted. Inwe performing as a vampire. Larien being something. Finwe . . . well, I'll tell you more later.

If you asked me what we did this weekend, I would use one word, Beach. Beach, beach, and more beach. Oh, and catching some crabs and fish to put in a small tank to watch for the days we were in Florida. We released them today. Nearly as much fun as catching them. We'll do this again. The weather was perfect. No one got burned, and we got to visit with a friend and her family. Whoooo, are we going to do that again!

So, Finwe became a bat quite by accident. He is wearing a long sleeved t-shirt. I tied the ribbons attached to the shoulders behind his neck so that the shirt didn't fall from his shoulders. Since Inwe had something on her head, he wanted something on his head. He reached behind him and pulled the flap of fabric from his back. As he turned around, we noticed tha the shoulder pads stuck up like bat ears. Voila! A bat.
