If you give my kids some freedom,

they are going to dress up.

As I cooked dinner, I heard the kids upstairs. Their position can be marked by the creak of the floors above my head. Old houses are good for that type of kid radar. They were quiet, but not too stealthy, which meant that they had kept out of the things that should not be touched, like my cosmetics.

Their timing impeccable, they arrived just as I drained the pasta. A chorus of "TA DA"s greeted me. When I turned I saw this. Larien in a dress that she wore to ring in the 2007 New Year, Inwe in her preppy shorts, and Finwe in New Orleans casual. Somehow, they managed to find Phill's ties, convince Finwe to wear a button-down shirt with the tie. Beware if you are around my daughters. They can talk you into nearly anything.

See-wa would have loved this. Of course, her nickname is Trixie, but forever she will be remembered as See-wa. WaWa, See-wa's husband will be "That Boy", although Finwe does remember his name as he asked specifically for WaWa this evening.

What do you think? Should we get Finwe a clip-on little boy tie?

YES! Dare has one and loves it. Actually his is velcro...but same difference. It has little Scotties on it compliments of the neighbors. For a while there he called it a necklace but is now using the correct term. It's so cute. I am sure your little fellow would be just as adorable!
