Won't Title This What Phill Suggested

There are days when we decide to play tourist in the city, but not by going automatically to Cafe du
Monde to have beignets. Instead, we travel across N. Peters Street to Cafe Beignet, where the adults can have cajun hashbrowns, cafe au lait, and grits while the little ones can choose a different drink than milk or chocolate milk while enjoying those sugar coated pockets of fried dough.

After our breakfast, we rounded to corner to Jackson Square (where we did not posture about the recovery of New Orleans like the current President of the USA) to gawk at the art and peruse a rather lovely toy store. A man twisting balloons greeted us, handing Larien a flower. As he made one for Inwe, Finwe kept asking for something. He was told to hold his britches, which he understood to mean to wait, although he did grab a hold of his shorts. The balloon man renamed him Captain Finwe the Pirate, which in New Orleans is a good thing because a hero of the city is Jean Lafitte, a pirate turned patriot turned patriot (once for France, once for the USA).

One thing about Jackson Square is how beautiful the cathedral is that flanks the lake side of the square. The children were eager to pose in front of the impressive edifice. We also noticed that a wedding would occur later in the day. Chairs, potted flowers, and a sound system sat in front of the cathedral. Surely, that will be a stunning setting in which to say "I do."

It sort of looks like a picture at disney world! The 'castle' and the kids holding their loot.
