Are you my mother?

Finwe has really adapted well to book reading before bed. The one problem for me is that he gets energized and wants the books read repeatedly. When I think he is ready for sleep, he isn't because he wants more books. My solution has been to hand Finwe over to Phill for a little while so I can get something else done instead of reading "Are you my mother?" for the tenth time.

Speaking of that book, when reading to Finwe I don't read the written words. His attention span doesn't allow for that. Instead, I read it much like this:

There's the mother bird in a nest.
There's an egg, and now a baby bird.
There's a tree, and then plop goes the baby bird.
That's a cat. Can you say cat? At!
That's a chicken.
That's a dog. Duh!
That's a cow. Ow!
Oh, scary snort! Call it a tractor.
Oh, baby bird in the nest!
There's the mother bird.

The version I read Finwe is a board book, which leaves out the part about the boat, plane, and broken down car.
