Presents

The third birthday is so fun. For my children, this is the time when they understand what the birthday and presents and cake and party are all about. Larien wanted her family to be with her. We offered to take her out with just Mommy and Daddy, but she requested that Inwe and Finwe be included in all plans. We went to the pool this afternoon as part of our day.

As for presents, dresses were at the top of the list. Larien was filled with joy at the dresses my mother sent and with the dress that our neighbors gave her.

Inwe surpised all of us by giving Larien a gift that she had packed on her own. In the gift bag was a pink belt that no longer fits Inwe and a lion toy. I was very impressed with her sense of giving.

Phill and I shopped last weekend for Larien. We got her a mermaid that swims when it hits water. I'm so looking forward to explaining how it works to the girls. For a mere $10, we also bought her a mermaid set with many dolls and pieces that Larien istantly shared with Idril and Inwe. The last toy was a pink, plush, stick pony. That got shared with every kid in the room, from the little boys Finwe and Cirdan to the girls.

My mother was also kind enough to put some lovely dresses for Inwe as well. She was very thrilled.

It was a good day. If you would have been here, you would have smiled and laughed and covered your ears.
