Today I took Finwe to the dentist so that she could check the damage to his tooth. He'll be okay. She smoothed the one sharp edge and told me when I should worry. This is really what I needed to know--the worst case scenario.
This type of injury to teeth is relatively common in young toddlers and rarely does it result in a tooth extraction due to an abcess.
He has an appointment in six months. One annoying part is that this isn't our family dentist whose office is literally two minutes from our house. We could walk to our dental appointments if there were sidewalks. Our family dentist felt that Finwe should be seen by a pediatric dentist because of his age. The pediatric dentist's office is much further from our house.
