Today in swim class (#3 of 4), the kids practiced floating on their backs, putting their arms in a streamline position, bobbing, swimming on the surface, and swimming under the water. Inwe is amazing at swimming under the water. Sometimes she forgets to use her arms, but Kyle reminded her. The next time she did really well. Larien tries everything. She is much bolder with me in the water than with any one else. I will have to pass Finwe off to Phill next time I am at the pool.
Last night Larien decided that she wanted snuggle time with Daddy. This does not happen many times, so Phill was delighted. Seeing that Larien was getting special time with Phill, Inwe quickly joined in. The problem was that Sogria ambled up with her super stinky breath. That is why Phill is laughing in this picture. Inwe had just exclained "Ew!" and was trying to get away from the smell. What has the girls so entranced? SpongeBob.
You can't tell here, but Kyle isn't holding Inwe up. He's just there to help her if she gets nervous. She's in the middle of the pool here; the edge is quite a long way for a 4 1/2 year old. Inwe listens well when it is her turn. In between those turns she practices holding her breath or bobbing.
From left to right is Larien, RL, and Inwe. RL is two days younger than Inwe and will be attending kindergarten with her at CDS in the fall. These two are already thick as theives during class. Larien wasn't that wonderful at the cheering part. She did pretty well at the tumbling part today. What Larien lacks in ability she does make up in enthusiasm and loudness. Inwe, who at home I am constantly chastising for being too loud, is not too loud at cheerleading class. However, she always remembers the cheers.
This morning coloring pictures for AnyMarine.comAt least once a week I find someone to whom I can send items. Last week a bunch of female Marines in Iraq wanted some girly things--like smelly lotions. Inwe and Larien helped me choose some of my Mary Kay items for that package. Today's mailing was letters for a couple of Marines who don't get much mail. Inwe was quite happy to color pictures and completed three. Larien colored one picture but loved it so much that she wouldn't part with it. Two weeks ago a group of Marines needed clothes for some Ethiopian orphans. I sent a box full of clothes from the kids. Inwe wants to send one of her SpongeBob toys. I'm more than happy to part with those toys.
Stories to come later.

The last picture - I remember sitting in that "W" configuation... Couldn't do it now if I tried.
