Somewhere between Feb. 28th and March 1st, Finwe turned 17 months of age. Here's what I think is new with him.
He wants to go up and down stairs upright. No more crawling for him.
He enjoys terrorizing Larien. He grabs for her snack. He steals her drink. He pulls at her blanket. He climbs in the chair next to her while she squeals in disgust. He does not do these things to Inwe.
He hits everything and everyone. We're working on it.
His favorite activity is opening and closing doors. Except, he doesn't know how to open the doors, which leads to anger, banging his fist on the door, and lots of frustrated family members. He opens all cabinets, drawers, and doors that are easy. Then he takes everything out of those places.
He has no more words. I'm worried. Blame it on two very verbal older sisters. When the girls were 17 months of age, they used 170 different words. Honest. At 19 months, they had each increased their vocabulary by 100 words or more. Finwe may be completely normal, average for a boy, but he is so far behind where his sisters were at this age. "ACK!" and "AT" just don't cut it for this mom.
So, blast away at my impatience.

come on SB, stop pushing the boy. :->
You know he's right on track for his age. Remeber Idril who maybe said 20 words by her 2nd b-day and those were only in front of me and Charlie. Then by 27 months her vocabulary took off (even though she is still shy in groups of kids.)
Or he could be like Cirdan (the younger) at 23 months whose favorite thing to say to me is "No Mommy, go 'way" ... deep down I think he loves me :->
