This school is so cool. It is the first year, so we'll have to see what bugs occur. However, the head of the school is great. The other staff are so committed to a good, personalized education for the kids. And, get this, nearly every one of the families is a two parent household.
Two annoying, but not horrible challenges:
- No nut products at all in the school. There is a kid who has a horrible peanut allergy. My kids aren't that big into peanut butter, so it is not a huge issue for us. However, for some of the other parents, this appears to present a problem for them. I guess their kids are peanut butter fanatics.
- In Larien's class there is a child with a food coloring allergy. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I haven't. This means that birthday frosting, colored yogurt, and almost any processed food is out for bring in treats on special days or school get-togethers. The teacher isn't sure about experimenting with colored water or with tinting play-dough. I'm just amazed that a kid has an allergy to food coloring!

WOW. So what do you bring then? I mean what's left that has any type of fun to it? Everything would be white. Is white ok? Or is that a color too?
Isn't cheese processed?
So no American cheese food, huh?
