Yesterday, Finwe turned ten months of age. I would do the list of what he should be doing, but I sent my book on to Molly.
To sum up this month's accomplishments is pretty easy.
- He weaned himself. However, he's still getting mommy's milk as I'm pumping.
- He takes a bottle well. He had never really been very good at it.
- He's sleeping through the night consistently.
- His naps are now 1.5 to 2 hours long. He takes two a day.
- He screams in delight as he crawls around the house, particularly if he is following his sisters.
- He has really increased the amount of solid food that he eats. And, if you put it in front of him, he eats it.
- He can stand on his own very briefly. Mostly he does this when he has been standing while holding onto a chair. When he wants to sit down, he lets go with both hands and balances his way down to the ground. It's very controlled.
- Lastly, here's a difference between Finwe and his sisters at this age. When Inwe and Larien learned to pull themselves up, Phill and I had to teach them how to get back down to the ground. There were numerous times that we had to "rescue" the girls when they had pulled themselves to a stand and then wanted to get down. Finwe has never had that predicament. It was as if he always knew how to get back down to the ground.
