This picture is unrelated to the subject of the post. I just liked it. He's so happy most of the time.I decided to be crazy again and take all three kids to the pool without another adult to help. I did it on Friday night, too. I'm getting quite bold. I think it comes with having more kids than hands.
Today we went to the outdoor waterpark instead of the inside pool. I told the girls that we weren't going in the deeper pools; we were staying in the baby pool.
"But, Mommy, I won't be able to really swim!" exclaimed Inwe.
"Yes, I know, but how many of me are there?" was my reply to her.
"Daddy can meet us, and then we can move to the big pool," she paused. "Oh, yeah, Daddy is out of town. Okay, the baby pool is fine."
Both she and Larien were content to wear regular swimsuits and did their best to swim in the foot deep pool. One bouns is that the spray garden is adjacent to the baby pool. For the first time, both girls played in the waterfalls and different types of sprays.
Finwe was also quite happy and adventurous in the pool today. He figured out that he could crawl in the water. Of course, this made me absolutely worried as Inwe and Larien were constantly yelling, "Mommy, watch this!" expecting me to watch them and watch Finwe at the same time.
As Finwe crawled after a toy he was going deeper. As in deeper than he could go without his mouth getting in the water. Sure enough, he got a gulp of water, which he promptly spit out. What a smart baby. A few times he dipped his face in the water as well. He came up laughing.
We were at the pool for nearly one and a half hours. Finwe fell asleep on the way home. Larien managed to eat her dinner before asking me to put her to bed at 7:50pm. Inwe lasted until 8:30pm. Pools are good for tired children. Yes, pools are good.

Yes, pools are good! We are going to our water park today and staying as long as everyone can last. Two summers ago I had someone comment to me (as we were walking up to the gate of the water park) that I must be brave to bring four children to the water park by myself. I guess people expect us to stay home all of the time! I'll admit that it's lots of work to swim with four. However, it's much more work to play 'referee' with four! I'll take the pool job and blessedly tired children anyday!
Great picture of Finwe, too!
