The Dress that Lasts

This is one of Larien's favorite dresses. She wore it yesterday and ended up sleeping in it last night, which is why she is still wearing it this morning. More than likely I will not be able to get her to change unless I get the kids to take a bath this morning. And, well, that probably won't happen.

Larien first fell asleep in the van on the way home from our dinner with Phill, who was at the hospital taking care of a particularly sick newborn. The kids and I had a full day yesterday of running errands--including getting something notarized at the bank. This meant that the kids got lollipops. I hope banks always have lollipops for kids. I remember with fondness the Dum-Dums that the teller would give my mom for Maverick and I.

In the late afternoon we went to the pool. It wasn't a great time at the pool, but it wasn't terrible either. The girls were just tired of Mommy and wanted Phill. Finwe had a great time in the pool. He likes to face outward and splash. He will also stretch his body out so that I have to hold him with his belly in the water. He will also dip his head down so that part of his face goes in the water.

Well, I have rambled my way through this post, and my point was to demonstrate that quality clothes last. Witness Inwe in the same dress in May of 2005 . Posted by Picasa

It's a beautiful dress. If I had one I liked as much, I'm afraid I'd wear it all the time too. I remember a much-loved and much-worn blue gingham dress from my early days.

What a sweet little dress. And Finwe dips his head down into the pool? Wow I just realized what a total freak I am. I'm all squirmy with just the thought of splashing on Isabelle's face when we went swimming. :-D
