Today it was haircut day for all but one of the Telemnars. Phill has to take care of his own hair; it's my job to take care of mine, Inwe's, Larien's, and Finwe's. The real reason for going to the stylist was for my hair--I wanted it shorter. However, Finwe was getting quite fuzzy headed and hair was growing over his ears. No son of mine will have hair growing over his ears until he is old enough to say "I look dumb" without any prompting from helpful family members (that includes you Mav and Good4Water!).
So, Inwe was up first--just about two inches off the end of hers. If I hadn't see the hair falling to the floor I would not have known that any hair was trimmed.
Larien was the next in the chair. She is a bit of a challenge. She's old enough to be able to stay sill, but she's young enough that she forgets to stay still. PSHair did a great job getting her to remain calm and collected by giving her a quarter to hold on her chest with her chin. I was quite impressed. Larien also got to keep the quarter.
I was next, and yes, I was very still and followed directions.
Finwe was such a challenge. He had been quietly watching the entire shop and all the women in there until it was time to have his locks shorn. He began his jumping. I managed to get him to sit still for his bangs to be trimmed, but it took three of us to keep him occupied enough for PSHair to get the rest of his head. I sang to him. We turned on the trimmers so he would have a noise to figure out. We used hair clips as alligators. It got done. He looks pretty good. I'll post a before and after when I get the chance. That will probably be much later as we are planning a pool trip tonight.
