Yesterday, I asked Inwe if she thought she could feed her brother, Finwe."Well, sure," was her confident reply.
I got out the jar of baby food, vegetables and ham, and directed Inwe to get a small spoon. She got the correct sized spoon and climbed onto the bar stool. Inwe watched as I gave a demonstration. She wasted no time offering a spoonful of mush to Finwe.
He smiled and ate. Larien rushed up saying, "I want to try. I want to try."
I hated to say it, but I had to reply in the negative. "Maybe some other time, Larien." She's just a bit too enthusiastic. However, look how interested she is in this picture. She watched the entired time as Finwe ate half a jar of food.Inwe is a messy spoon feeder, but she is just 4 1/2. Finwe didn't mind. Inwe fed Finwe again this evening. She was also good at getting Finwe to laugh while she fed him.
He really adores Inwe. Always a bit wary of Larien, Finwe is warming up a bit to her. I think it is her wild enthusiasm for life that intimidates him. Now that he is moving more he's not so worried about her and her movements.
